Our founding company, FORTUNA sázková kancelář a.s., was established in 1990 in Prague, and we became one of the first-ever joint-stock companies in the country’s modern history. Shortly after in 1991, our Slovakian sister company, Terno, a.s., was established. Then in 2004, the two companies merged, creating Fortuna Group.

Penta Investments became the group owner in 2005 who enabled our expansion into Poland through the acquisition of Poland’s Profesjonał betting office.

In 2006 Fortuna introduced real-time communication between our branches and bookmakers. Merely a year later, we introduced telephone betting in the Czech Republic and online betting in Slovakia.

The Fortuna Entertainment Group (FEG) was established in 2009 as a holding company to keep pace with our growth as we became the largest Central European betting operator. Live betting also took off and became a sudden hit amongst our customers.

FEG launched Fortuna brand in Romania in 2014.

In 2017, we launched our online casino in the Czech Republic. That same year, FEG acquired the Hattrick Sports Group with operations in Croatia and Romania under the brands Casa Pariurilor, Hattrick, and PSK.

Today, we are proud of the fact that we are the largest Central and Eastern European betting and gaming operator, employing over 6,000 of the best people in the industry. We continue to invest in the latest and greatest products and network of branches and services.

At the start of 2020 FEG acquired Idea-Spark, an independent data science & technology company based in Hyderabad, India. The relationship between FEG and Idea-Spark is not recent, as our cooperation began in 2016.
